Eleven fishermen missing as boats capsize near Thatta

At least 11 fishermen have gone missing after three boats carrying 40 fishermen capsized near Thatta’s Keti Bandar on Saturday, rescue officials said.

One dead body was recovered and 28 fishermen were rescued, according to officials.

Most of the fishermen who went missing were on a boat named Al Siddiqui.

According to the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum, Syed Gulab Shah, another boat, Bahre Hassan, carrying 22 fishermen was rescued last night.

Strong winds coupled with overloaded boats are considered to have played a role in the accident.
